American Science and Engineering is supplying NATO C3 Agency with Z Portal X-Ray security checkpoint screening systems |
|
NATO C3 Agency has awarded AS&E a follow-on order for a multi-view Z Portal X-ray screening system for use at a strategic security checkpoint.
"This follow-on order from NATO's NC3A agency once again demonstrates their satisfaction with the unique detection capabilities of the multi-view, drive-through Z Portal system," said Anthony Fabiano, President and CEO of AS&E. "With photo-like imaging from three sides of the cargo, the Z Portal system offers a proven and safe method for high-throughput cargo screening to find hidden threats and contraband at NATO's high-risk facilities and other checkpoints."
The Z Portal system is the most comprehensive screening system available with multi-view, drive-through inspection of cars, vans, trucks, and their cargo. Z Portal system's Z Backscatter technology produces photo-like images for superior detection capability of plastic and liquid explosives, narcotics, and plastics weapons, drugs, stowaways, and alcohol. With its compact design, the Z Portal system is ideal for high-traffic locations with space constraints and a high-throughput requirement and is safe for drivers, operators, cargo, and the environment. The system is available in two sizes — one for large trucks, buses, and cargo vehicles, and a smaller size for passenger vehicles. Customers include US Department of Defence, US Customs and Border Protection, Abu Dhabi Customs, and NATO.
