Sepaton has been cited as a leader in the open systems virtual tape library market by Forrester Research, leading other ‘pure-plays' with the most complete product offering. In the January 2008 Forrester Wave Enterprise Open Systems Virtual Tape Libraries, Q1 2008 report, Sepaton's S2100-ES2 was recognised among top open systems products as having "one of the most scalable architectures of any open systems VTL" and the highest marks for scalability, resiliency and manageability.
Sepaton was among twelve open systems virtual tape library vendors that Forrester invited to participate in its Enterprise Open Systems Virtual Tape Libraries, Q1 2008 Wave report completed in January. Forrester thoroughly evaluated these vendors across 58 criteria, broken down into three main areas: current offering, strategy, and market presence.
Stephanie Balaouras, Forrester Research senior analyst and author of the Enterprise Open Systems Virtual Tape Libraries Wave report, wrote: "Sepaton leads pure-plays with the most complete offering. Sepaton has one of the most scalable architectures of any open systems VTL." She added, "It also supports a large number of tape emulations, host connectivity, and performance. Sepaton has a very resilient architecture, with significant redundancy in its underlying disk subsystems and excellent replication capabilities."
