Video management integration with EAS

Exacq Technologies : 19 May, 2015  (New Product)
Exacq integrates Electronic Article Surveillance with its video management system to improve retail security
Video management integration with EAS

Exacq Technologies, part of the Security Products business unit of Tyco, announces an integration with the Sensormatic anti-theft system from Tyco Retail Solutions. The combination of exacqVision video management system (VMS) and the Sensormatic EAS system gives retail customers a unified solution to capture loss event data, provide video recognition to improve their loss prevention and shoplifting protection within one interface.

The Sensormatic pedestals capture valuable loss prevention data to create a surveillance zone at the end of checkout lane or at the store exit.  When an alarm event occurs, the system notifies store employees when someone exits the store or if merchandise has the electronic article surveillance (EAS) tag attached.

With the exacqVision integration, retail customers have an added layer of video surveillance. exacqVision network video recorders (NVR) have the ability to receive data from the LDM module via a serial-over-IP port. Customers can see live video images of the alarm event as it is occurring or search previous EAS system events and see the corresponding exacqVision video at the time the event happened. This integration enables retail store managers to quickly identify suspects for potential theft instances and improve their real-time response to shrinkage control.

This integration requires exacqVision server version 6.6 and Local Device Manager Configurator version 8.3 to connect the Sensormatic pedestals and manage data output.
