LifeLock CEO Todd Davis has announced a partnership with AAA New Jersey Automobile Club that will provide a preferred discount to members and employees to protect their identities using the nation's leader in identity theft prevention, LifeLock.
"AAA New Jersey Automobile Club has recognized the threats that identity theft poses to its members and has selected LifeLock as the proactive solution," said Davis. "We are in a unique position to partner with AAA New Jersey Automobile Club and to help ensure that their members do not become the next victim of identity theft."
In February 2008, the Federal Trade Commission reported that in 2007 identity theft cost Americans $1.2 billion dollars, the highest amount ever. In 2007, the state of New Jersey ranked No. 12 on the list of identity theft complaints with more than 6,800 complaints filed with the FTC.
Located in a secure facility in Tempe, Arizona, LifeLock enables "locks" by setting and automatically renewing fraud alerts with the major credit bureaus, removing member names from pre-approved credit card offers and junk mail lists. It is backed by a $1 million service guarantee. Recently, LifeLock added an additional service to all members called WalletLockâ„¢. WalletLock works to cancel and replace all documents and personal identifying information inside a wallet if it is lost or stolen.
