Time clock with SAP interface for training attendance

BBT Thermotechnologies UK is part of the Thermotechnik Division of Bosch and has been manufacturing gas and oil-fired boilers in the UK for over 40 years. The largest UK site is based in Worcester and it employs more than 1,600 staff. In the last 12 months there has been a 20 per cent increase in staff which continues to rise.
Worcester Heating was already using Kaba's time and attendance clocks for capturing their employees' arrival and departure times from work which was seamlessly integrated with their SAP system and proving to be a great success. As a result, Kaba were awarded the contract to resolve a new dilemma.
Worcester Heating provide beneficial internal training courses for their employees on a regular basis. However, the recording of who attended which training course, and for how long was administratively intensive and costly. Kaba's solution was simple. A time clock placed in a training room was configured by the course leader with the training course code. As the participants arrived and departed the room, they would use their ID card at the clock reader, and the time and course code was automatically captured within SAP with no extra administration.
Richard Berry, HR Director of BBT Technologies commented, "The cost and time to administer these internal training courses was excessive. We had to work out who had attended or not, and for how long. Now by one simple swipe of an ID card, the information can be sent straight into our SAP HR system, and we can see immediately who is on what course and for how long".
With over 1100 SAP customers and in excess of 20 years experience, Kaba were able to make the modification to their certified SAP interface very simply and quickly, the whole project completed within just 4 weeks.
