RFID to be used in for improved inventory visibility

Asda has selected Tyco Retail Solutions as their partner on a project for item level inventory visibility and accuracy at shop level for their George apparel business.  Tyco’s TrueVUE Inventory Visibility application will enable Asda to use RFID cycle counting in support of their business.

With Tyco’s TrueVUE inventory intelligence solution, retailers around the world are realising the immediate benefits of RFID to combat mission-critical issues like poor inventory accuracy.  A market leader for RFID-based inventory intelligence solutions, Tyco Retail Solutions has the depth of experience to help today’s biggest retailers gain accurate item-level visibility across all shops, laying the foundation for a successful omni-channel retail strategy.

“Our customers trust us to be always available and expect their size option to be in the shop or online when they want it”, said David Mills, Head of Strategic Availability Projects, Asda. “With Tyco’s RFID-based application, we hope to enhance our inventory accuracy and stock availability in our shops.”

In addition to the TrueVUE Inventory Visibility application, Tyco Retail Solutions will provide Asda with professional services to manage the project.

“We recognise the challenge retailers face in ensuring accurate inventory to satisfy shopper demand,” said Nancy Chisholm, vice president and general manager, Tyco Retail Solutions. “We are excited to be chosen as the partner for this pilot program and look forward to applying Tyco’s years of retail leadership to help Asda harness the power of RFID to improve store performance, enhance shopper experience, and support an omni-channel strategy.”
