Range expanded for modular data centres

ICTroom : 21 January, 2016  (New Product)
ICTroom now provides more options for companies requiring customised data centres with scalability.
Range expanded for modular data centres

ICTroom has expanded its IMD (Integrated Modular Datacentre) product portfolio and the launch of a new technical support services portfolio.

ICTroom’s modular IMD is a design starting point for a customised data centre build. The original IMD was designed to deliver critical loads of increments of 750kW with each IT module comprising 160 server racks or 320 sqm of white space. Via its portfolio expansion, ICTroom now offers more granular steps in scaling capacity and a new product line for micro-sites with requirements below 100kW.

The new IMD offerings comprise:

* IMD50 – Purpose-built enclosures to house 8-15 racks and to support a critical load of 50-100kW. Suitable for on-site data storage and compute for heavily regulated industries – such as healthcare clinics, colleges and corporate offices – as well as industrial applications in ruggedised environments, or for point-of-presence in carrier and content distribution networks;
* IMD250 – The mid-range IMD, starting at 125kW critical load and 50 square metres of usable IT space and seamlessly expandable to 750kW;
* IMD750 – A fully populated version of ICTroom’s original IMD design, providing extensive capacity for operators of medium to large sites;
* Multi-megawatt sites can be created by using multiple, technical IMD750 building blocks, which also fit into existing or predesigned buildings – according to specific customer requirements.

In addition to its product portfolio expansion, ICTroom is also announcing a set of new technical support packages for data centre and computer room operators. Initially available in the Netherlands, three Care Packs for Data Centres offer standardised maintenance services tiered into three categories (CP1, CP2 and CP3) reflecting bronze, silver and gold support levels respectively – including 24x7 on-site response with guaranteed response times, fix times and Service Level Agreement. ICTroom is also offering 24x7 remote monitoring of the M&E equipment of data centre infrastructure for both new and legacy facilities.

Frank Brand, managing director at ICTroom, commented, “An increasing number of data centre service providers, from colocation to cloud, are adopting a modular data centre approach due its ability to reduce business uncertainty, in terms of costs, capacity and design-to-build timescales. By expanding our IMD product portfolio, we are enabling even more organisations to benefit from a modular solution, which – when combined with our proven data centre expertise – becomes a customised data centre or computer room that exactly meets each customer’s existing - and forecasted – business requirements.”
