Public sector network computing award

ForeScout Technologies : 14 April, 2015  (Company News)
ForeScout Technologies gains network computing award success in recognition for project at Sutton and East Surrey Water
Public sector network computing award

Network Computing magazine has awarded ForeScout Technologies with its Network Project of the Year (Public Sector) award for a deployment made at Sutton and East Surrey Water of the CounterACT product which provides the water authority with comprehensive and real time visibility of its internal network.

With other finalists including AIT, Workspace Technology, Imerja and iTrinegy for project they performed for Hampshire County Council, Leicester City Council, Telestroke and the University of Loughborough respectively, Network Computing's editor, Ray Smyth, chose the CounterACT project, which was implemented by specialist integrator BlueFort Security, as the winner in the public sector category.

After demonstrating the proof of concept on-site to the customer’s IT security team last year, ForeScout went on to prove that CounterACT not only exceeded SESW’s requirements while remaining within budget, but it also maximised the water company’s internal security compliance by delivering greater operational oversight of authorised and unauthorised users, devices and software on its network.

“We are delighted to have won this prominent award, which demonstrates the breadth of CounterACT’s continuous monitoring and mitigation capabilities, while also enabling Sutton and East Surrey Water to maximise its IT security investment,” said John Hagerty, EMEA director for Channels and Strategic Alliances at ForeScout Technologies. “The fact that ForeScout’s ControlFabric architecture enables CounterACT and other IT systems to exchange information allows SESW to achieve a more holistic security posture, and helps them to prevent and respond to cyberthreats continuously.”
