New EMEA VP to drive increased sales for SonicWall

After a two-year grooming period in senior positions in SonicWall, Keith Bird becomes new VP for EMEA with the aim of gaining deeper penetration into this geographical market.
SonicWALL has announced the appointment of Keith Bird as Vice President EMEA. Keith is now responsible for leading EMEA region sales, marketing and operations and reports to John DiLullo, Vice President Worldwide Sales, SonicWALL.

A two-year SonicWall veteran, Keith has been a pivotal player in SonicWALL's European strategy, first as Regional Director for the Northern Europe operation and more recently as Managing Director of Europe. As a key architect of SonicWALL's outstanding regional growth during 2006, Keith's contributions included his expert assembly of high-performance teams throughout the region, leading strategic penetration into the emerging markets of Eastern Europe and Middle East Africa, and spearheading the widespread adoption of new SonicWALL technologies such as email security, secure remote access, and backup and recovery. Keith is now tasked with building on this success, to further enhance SonicWALL's regional market position. As a 100 per cent channel-focussed company, Keith will be looking to work in close conjunction with SonicWALL's existing channel partner base, as well as recruit new partners to help SonicWALL achieve this goal.

We believe that Keith's impressive track record is an excellent qualification for expanding SonicWALL's presence in the EMEA region."

Prior to joining SonicWALL, Keith was the EMEA-wide Channel Sales Director for Extreme Networks. At Extreme, Keith led a large sales and marketing team to unprecedented revenue results as he competed against established competitors such as Cisco, Foundry and 3Com. Before Extreme, Keith held EMEA director roles with Orchestream Software and EDS. Altogether, Keith has over 20 years of business development and management experience in the IT and Networking industry.
