Network access control trade-in programme.

ForeScout Technologies : 01 April, 2008  (New Product)
ForseScout will trade-in any existing network access control product from approved vendors.
ForeScout Technologies has announced an expansion of its Lockdown Networks buyback programme to cover any qualified NAC product from competing vendors including Bradford Networks, Cisco, ConSentry Networks, Juniper Networks, StillSecure, Vernier Networks, and others. This comes after a week of partner requests to apply credit to other NAC products which have not satisfied customer needs in order to migrate to ForeScout's easy to deploy, easy to use CounterACT NAC platform.

The ForeScout Buyback Programme offers customers a direct credit per NAC appliance based upon the specific CounterACT replacement appliance(s) selected. This programme will be available until 30 June 2008.

"ForeScout expects to be the go-to market alternative to Cisco as well as the complimentary NAC extension to every network where Microsoft and Symantec's end point agents are deployed," said Kent Elliott, CEO of ForeScout. "Our ease of use, intuitive deployment interface, business logic based policy creation, and broad experience in real-life global deployments in enforcement mode are the foundations of this success and what will continue to keep ForeScout to the forefront of this market."

The buyback programme is being extended to demonstrate to customers the benefits of a mature NAC solution that is flexible and scalable. CounterACT is an award winning, globally deployed NAC solution that has gained a solid reputation for its ease of use, business-centric policy enforcement, and non-disruptive approach to network security policy enforcement.

"ForeScout's ability to offer a buyback programme like this is the best indicator of its success in the NAC space to date," said Grahame Smee, Managing Director of Cohort Technology. "As a distributor, it allows us to work with partners to support enterprise customers with NAC deployments from vendors whose support organisation has suddenly vanished, and offer a technically and commercially stronger solution. The fact that we can offer an attractive credit for a product that could potentially be obsolete as its manufacturer has gone under says much about the stability and future of ForeScout."

"In addition, to offer such an attractive scheme to customers who have potentially made the wrong choice of NAC vendor and now want to switch painlessly is perhaps the strongest endorsement of all", Smee continued.
