Media recognition for Pular MX UPS product

MGE Office Protection Systems : 19 September, 2007  (New Product)
Pulsar MX UPS system provides continuous protection to server farms of up to 110 servers.
MGE Office Protection Systems has received the Silver Award in Consulting-Specifying Engineer (CSE) magazine's annual "A Perfect 10" Product of the Year competition for the Pulsar MX UPS system. Originally placed as Finalist by an expert panel of consulting engineers, the innovative system was judged by CSE's readers as they voted throughout July to determine the 2007 winner.

Designed to deliver the highest level of protection for 20 to 110 servers and provide matchless scalability from 5 kVA to 20 kVA featuring on-line double-conversion technology, the Pulsar MX UPS System was awarded second place in the Power Generation category, and will be presented in CSE's November issue.

"We are honoured to receive such a prestigious award from Consulting-Specifying Engineer's staff and readers," said MGE Office Protection Systems' VP of North and South America, Curtiz Gangi. "To receive such an accolade from the engineering community is a rarity, and we are pleased that the publication has given our products their seal of approval. As a team, we strive each day to provide the UPS industry with unmatched quality and reliability, always looking to heighten the bar in design and customer satisfaction."

Created to accommodate the growth of small and mid-sized companies as power requirements increase, MGE Office Protection Systems has designed the Pulsar MX UPS system as a fully scalable solution to deliver business continuity 24x7. Utilising a redundant architecture, the system can scale power and runtime as demand increases or when higher levels of availability are required. When the Pulsar MX on-line double-conversion power modules are connected in parallel within the Pulsar MX Frame, power can be readily scaled from 5 kVA to 10, 15 (with redundancy) or 20 kVA power levels - without disrupting connected equipment -within the Pulsar MX's 16U (28 inch) frame.

Jason Koffler, UK and Ireland Country Manager, says, "With up to 18 kW, this solution provides the highest power density in the industry and is a perfect match for a rack fully populated with blade servers. For the first time, the same power and battery sub-modules can be used for both the standalone UPS and the modular chassis, which significantly reduces the entry cost to scalability. Users can decide to acquire a cost-competitive Pulsar MX 5000 RT, and then migrate to a fully scalable, redundant solution using the Pulsar MX Frame while still using the original power and battery sub-modules of the original 5 kVA standalone UPS".
