Tenable executive comments on M86 report and says that patching operating systems is essential to maintain a secure environment |
|
Ron Gula, CEO/CTO, Tenable - the makers of Nessus comments on the report by M86 Security on Java and Flash thwarting security.
"Anyone who is surfing the Internet or sending email and does not have a fully patched operating system, flash library, PDF reader, browser, .etc, is asking to be a victim.
"At Tenable, we've seen a rise in the number of vulnerabilities associated with client software such as Adobe. Both enterprise and home users can be vulnerable to many types of attacks if they don't patch their systems.
"Combining different types vulnerabilities is a common way to exploit systems. One vulnerability might get you onto a system as an unprivileged user and another could let you control the system with administrator privileges."
