IT Governance conference to be held in Stockholm.

ISACA hosts conference on European Computer Audit, Control and Security to address governance, compliance and information security. |

Bert Nordberg, executive vice president and head of group function sales and marketing telefonaktiebolaget for LM Ericsson, will present the main address at the European Computer Audit, Control and Security Conference (EuroCACS) in Sweden. Hosted by ISACA, a nonprofit international association of more than 65,000 IT governance professionals, EuroCACS will be held 9-12 March 2008 in Stockholm at the Clarion Hotel Sign.
The conference is designed for IT audit, assurance, control, security and governance professionals. EuroCACS will offer 40 sessions divided into four streams:.
* IT Governance—Topics are designed to provide a perspective on information systems and technology issues at the strategic level, and include:.
- Applying COBIT 4.1.
- Aligning IT with the business.
- IT governance metrics and balanced scorecards.
* IT Audit—This stream will discuss innovative concepts, proven tools, useful techniques and practical examples of IT auditing to help enhance skills and add value to the orgnization. Topics include:.
- Using COBIT as an assurance planning tool.
- New technologies and challenges for the IT auditor.
- Using models and leading indicators for continuous control monitoring.
* Information Security—Sessions in this stream will help benchmark and validate the organisation's current approach to information security governance and practices, while assessing emerging issues. Topics include:.
- Information security management systems and processes.
- COBIT Security Baseline.
- Network penetration tools and techniques.
* IT Risk Management and Compliance—This stream will present concepts of Risk Management and how to apply them for the benefit of the organisation and its stakeholders. Specific regulations and compliance requirements will be explored. Additional topics include:.
- Using COBIT as an IT Risk Management barometer.
- Building an effective Risk Management framework.
- Improving IT risk and compliance management.
"According to recent IT Governance Institute research, more than 90 percent of executives think that IT is important to the business strategy," said Lynn Lawton, international president of ISACA. "EuroCACS provides attendees with the latest IT solutions and practices that they can implement in their organizations to benefit both IT and the business."
The registration fee for the conference is US $1,595 for ISACA members and US $1,995 for nonmembers. Conference attendees can earn up to 40 continuing professional education (CPE) hours. Pre- and postconference workshops will also be offered, including Implementing IT Governance Using COBIT and Val IT, Ensuring Control Over Mobile Technology, and Val IT: An Introduction to the Framework and How It Works.
