ID Networks renew agreement to resell L-1 biometrics identity products.

L-1 Identity Solutions : 10 December, 2007  (Company News)
Face recognition, fingerprint scanning and multo-biometric systems now fall under the umbrella of ID Networks as part of a new partnership agreement with L-1 Identity Solutions.
L-1 Identity Solutions has extended to 2012 its Value Added Reseller (VAR) agreement with ID Networks, a veteran records management and identification technologies provider for the criminal justice market. Under the extended agreement, privately-held and Ohio-based ID Networks will resell a broader range of L-1 live scan devices and facial and fingerprint biometric solutions to federal and state and local law enforcement agencies, including the ABIS® System, a scalable, standards-based and easy to integrate multi-biometric back-end search platform. The agreement serves to broaden L-1's penetration into the domestic criminal justice and civilian markets though this important sales channel.

"We are pleased to sign a new agreement with ID Networks whose excellent reputation and in-depth industry experience will certainly help us grow our market reach," said Joseph Paresi, Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer of L-1 Identity Solutions. "The expansion of coverage of the agreement to include our face and fingerprint solutions is a testament to our mission to deliver the full range of offerings required for solving the problems associated with managing human, identity whether in the criminal or civil space."

Under the terms of the new agreement, ID Networks will continue to distribute L-1's TouchPrint Enhanced Definition family of live scan products, including the compact TouchPrint Enhanced Definition 4100 Slap and Roll Live Scan. ID Networks will offer these live scan products for replacement and upgrade opportunities within its existing customer base, as well as new accounts.

Other products included in the contract are ABIS System, FaceIt Argus Facial Screening, FaceIt technology, single fingerprint readers, and FaceExaminer, a revolutionary, forensic application unique to L-1 Identity Solutions that helps to analyse, search and identify faces of wanted subjects taken from surveillance video where image quality is typically poor and subjects may not be directly facing the camera.

Commenting on the extended VAR agreement, Douglas Blenman, President of ID Networks, stated, "After an extensive evaluation of available face and finger biometric technologies, we decided to extend our close relationship with Identix and build upon our past successes. We are confident that its complete range of products will help us with our emerging biometric solutions line of business and will continue to complement our records management solutions. We are committed to work together for five more years to provide law enforcement and civilian agencies best of breed biometric solutions. We see a solid market potential for our extended product offerings not only among existing clients, but also for new customers."

In 2005, ID Networks first became a channel partner of Identix, a division of L-1 Identity Solutions, integrating the industry leading TouchPrint Enhanced Definition family of live scan products into its public safety focused software applications.
