Guarding Gold approval for Wilson James from the National Security Inspectorate

Wilson James : 27 January, 2010  (Company News)
Conforming to ISO9001, Screening staff, continuous training and development as well as track record contributed to the approval by the National Security Inspectorate of Wilson James to Guarding Gold standard
Wilson James is pleased to announce that in January 2010 it was awarded NSI Guarding Gold approval.

The National Security Inspectorate (NSI) is the leading approval and certification body that provides inspection services for the UK's security and fire industries.

Wilson James joins the ranks of many of the UK's leading security providers who are also approved to NSI Guarding Gold level. Under the inspection scheme, companies are required to provide evidence of their ability to:

* meet the highest business performance standards
* meet all relevant British and European Standards for technical performance
* security screen all relevant staff
* provide a high level of staff training and supervision to industry best practice standards
* meet the industry specific ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System Standard
* demonstrate a long term track record of performance and evidence of reliability and stability

Companies also need to be comprehensively insured to protect their customers and are inspected every six months by professional auditors. Inspection also includes site visits at random intervals to ensure consistency of service.

The driving force behind Wilson James becoming an NSI Guarding Gold approved company is that it allows the quality of our service delivery at specific customer sites to be independently tested under the newly launched NSI Contract Quality Marque scheme.

Andrew White, Chief Executive, NSI, stated 'I am delighted that Wilson James has achieved NSI Guarding Gold approval, which can only strengthen their resolve to deliver high standards in the security sector. We are pleased Wilson James has chosen NSI approval, providing assurance to their customers that they provide a premier service. Out of the top 20 UK guarding companies*, Wilson James are the 12th to receive NSI approval, collectively accounting for 70 per cent of the guarding market by turnover.'

Wilson James is a keen supporter of the new NSI Contract Quality Marque (CQM). The marque aims to recognise individual contracts, which excel in the level of quality and service they provide to customers and staff alike.

The CQM assessment process is very stringent, focusing not only on the robustness of the suppliers' processes, procedures and management capability but on Security Officers' working conditions, pay and benefits. It is frequently these softer issues, which contribute greatly to staff motivation, increased job satisfaction and result in significantly better on-site performance - the bedrock of contract quality. We are commencing with the independent assessment of a number of pilot customer sites in February 2010.
