Freeware IP and Ports Scanner

Famatech : 03 October, 2007  (New Product)
Network inspection and troubleshooting made easier with free advanced IP and Port scanner.
Famatech has added two new freeware network scanning products to its solutions for system administrators and power users. Famatech has launched its new Advanced IP Scanner and Advanced Port Scanner, which enhance the service provided by Radmin 3.0, its leading remote control and administration software for enterprise and SOHO networks. The new freeware solutions can check network status or remote devices in a few seconds, helping to maintain, troubleshoot and inspect networks of any size.

Advanced IP Scanner is a fast, robust and easy-to-use LAN scanner for Windows. It scans a specified IP range and retrieves information about all computers within that range, reporting on all that are turned on. It is powered with a multithreading scan engine, enabling it to scrutinise a large network in seconds, even on slow modem connections. The Advanced Port Scanner is small, fast, robust and easy to use. It scans a specified port range, retrieves information about all ports and reports if there are any services turned on.

The two new solutions complement the functionality of Radmin 3.0, which combines helpdesk components, advanced remote control features and network monitoring in a single, integrated application. When integrated with Radmin, the two new features enable users to gain instant control of available computers.

As network administrator tools, the scanners enable system administrators to retrieve NetBIOS information from all running computers to produce a complete image of the corporate network, while built-in shortcuts let technicians connect to problematic computers in a few mouse clicks. They also have the ability to perform 'sleep' and 'wake' commands on any computers on the network.

Advanced IP Scanner and Advanced Port Scanner also offer power users the ability to scan their local networks for active workstations, open ports, check computer availability and troubleshoot problems. Advanced optimisation for slow modem connections also enables home users to check remote networks at the highest possible speed.
