Floor spring door closures meet low opening force requirements

ASSA ABLOY : 12 January, 2016  (New Product)
Assa Abloy releases a range of door closures for mounting in the floor for a range of doors in different building applications
Floor spring door closures meet low opening force requirements

ASSA ABLOY has launched a fully comprehensive range of floor spring door closers to satisfy all project requirements.

The new Cam-Motion floor springs are suitable for both fire and non-fire rated timber, metal and glass doors and are configurable for single or double action applications.

Mounted in the floor, below a range of attractive covers in multiple finishes, the floor springs leave doors uncluttered, for a more aesthetically pleasing and simplified look than conventional door mounted doors closers.

The Cam-Motion technology ensures the requirements of BS8300 (low opening forces) are met to aid designers or building owners in meeting the requirements of The Equalities Act 2010 and Approved Doc M of the Building Regulations.

In addition, the smoothness of operation of ASSA ABLOY’s Cam-Motion products, coupled with the in-floor installation offers an unrivalled performance for larger or heavier door leaves.

The range includes three carefully configured models: the DC450 that provides EN4 fixed power size and is suitable for a 40mm slab, the DC477 that offers EN2-4 variable power and the DC475, which offers EN3-6 variable power.

Differing installation depths can all be configured from the same unit. Back-check and CE Marking to EN1154 is also standard across the range.

All models share a platform of accessories, encompassing varying spindle heights, top and bottom pivot sets and cover plate finishes, to ease the selection and installation process.

All parts can be selected individually for tailored requirements or bought as a complete kit, further simplifying the selection process.

The three models also offer the purchaser a range of prices to ensure the budget is maintained.

The comprehensive ASSA ABLOY floor spring door closer range is suitable for use in schools, hospitals or residential homes where the young, elderly or disabled may struggle with the forces associated with conventional door controls.

David Hindle, Head of Door Closer Sales at ASSA ABLOY UK, said: “Our new range of floor springs complete ASSA ABLOY’s full range of suited door closers. No matter what the requirements of a project are, we can be confident that we have an innovative door closer solution. The technology and high quality components used by ASSA ABLOY mean that high frequency or potentially more ‘abusive’ applications can be successfully overcome and life time costs can be kept to a minimum.”
