Feature checking for Android anti-malware

AMTSO (Anti-Malware Testing Standards Organisation) : 04 March, 2014  (New Product)
A test is available from the Anti-Malware Testing Standards Organization for evaluating the configuration of Android anti-malware software
Feature checking for Android anti-malware

AMTSO, The Anti-Malware Testing Standards Organization announces an extension to its popular feature check solution allowing users of Android anti-malware security products to test whether their product is configured correctly to stop the many different types of attacks.

The AMTSO web site now hosts a number of easy to use tools to ensure that Android anti-malware security products are configured to protect you from viruses, drive-by-downloads, potentially unwanted applications (PUA), phishing and cloud attacks. The tests can be accessed directly from the AMTSO home page.

Using newly developed tests and existing industry standards AMTSO is providing a single place for a user to test their configuration. The test pages are already supported by Ahnlab, AVG, Avira, ESET, Kaspersky Lab, McAfee and Trend Micro.

AMTSO expects more vendors will add detection of these tools to their solutions in the future. If your product is not listed then please contact your vendor.

Dr Richard Ford, President and CEO of AMTSO, said “By adding Android to our feature check pages consumers and businesses can now ensure that their mobile anti-malware security product is configured correctly and is working on multiple levels to protect their valuable digital assets. The AMTSO team understands that the dependence on mobile devices means that users need to feel safe and secure in the knowledge that our protection is on and running”
