Compliant platforms for voice biometric signatures in the financial services industry is the only circumstance in which the term Trust Centre can be used after Voice Commerce wins EU trade mark for the term |

Voice Commerce has secured an EU trademark for the term 'Trust Centre' in financial services. Voice Commerce can now ensure the term Trust Centre in EU financial services is used only to refer to a compliant platform for the storage of voice biometric signatures.
Voice Commerce has developed the VoiceTransact Trust Centre to support the use of voice signatures, which enable an individual's identity to be validated and authenticated in real-time, anywhere, using any type of mobile device. Voice signatures combine an individual's voice biometric with their transactional history, trends and location patterns to create a highly secure authorisation environment which is independent of both the mobile device and network. For example, voice signatures negate the risk of identity theft and fraud for mobile banking, which according to analyst house Ovum this week is at high risk of increased malware threats because handsets are vulnerable to being lost, stolen and hacked.
Nick Ogden, CEO of the Voice Commerce Group says, "Securing the EU trademark for the term 'Trust Centre' in financial services marks another significant step in the global roll out of the VoiceTransact Trust Centre through our existing 51 country network. A VoiceTransact Trust Centreâ„¢ not only allows consumers to sign for any mobile based transaction that they may undertake, it also enables secure payments, either for e-commerce or as a mobile payment, with automatic no cost anti-fraud guarantees against each transaction.
"Over the coming year we expect to see the use of our guaranteed voice signatures become commonplace in financial services, replacing the multitude of passwords and PINs that have become inherent in the industry. With this in mind it is crucial that the term Trust Centre becomes synonymous with a trusted and secure KYC compliant platform for the storage of voice signatures. By securing the trademark we are now confident that this will be the case going forward in the EU."
In April 2010 Voice Commerce announced the launch of the first UK VoiceTransact Trust Centre.
