DVR triggered by alarm events.

Video Domain Technologies : 03 May, 2007  (New Product)
Solid state DV-800 digital video recorder from Video Domain Technologies provides high quality surveillance image recording with event triggering.
Video Domain Technologies (VDT) has announced the immediate availability of the new MemoCam DV-800 range of event-driven Digital Video recorders. This compact, single channel system can store up to 500,000 high quality images on the latest 4Gb mini SD memory card and is suitable for a wide range of covert security, surveillance and video recording applications. It has been selected as an IFSEC 2007 awards finalist in the product innovation category.

The DV-800 is available in either standalone or GPRS versions and can be rapidly deployed in areas where remote guarding is required, delivering high quality photographs to meet evidential standards. It has been designed for applications where there are insufficient visitors to warrant the deployment of a larger CCTV solution including remote stations, outbuildings, communication masts and substations. This miniature solid-state unit has no mechanical moving parts and delivers high quality video recordings without requiring day-to-day intervention or maintenance.

The Memocam DV-800 can be used to monitor any site that requires rapid deployment at an affordable cost. It connects to any standard analogue CCTV camera and captures a programmable series of digitised still photographs when triggered by an event. Alarms can be activated by external triggers as well as advanced, integrated Video Motion Detection (VMD), which enables specific areas of interest within the picture frame to be defined.

According to Clive Mason, Managing Director of VDT: "This compact DVR provides users with a cost effective way of achieving high quality covert event-driven recording for a wide range of applications. It consolidates Video Domain's reputation as one of the world's leading developers of innovative security solutions."

Recorded events are easily analysed by removing the mini SD card from the unit and inserting it into a memory card reader connected to a computer. Alternatively, when using the cellular version, SMS notifications can be sent to any GPRS enabled mobile phone whilst time and date stamped JPEG images can be emailed as attachments for access using any Internet enabled computer or PDA. Images can be transmitted in a range of resolutions including 320x240 for optimum speed over cellular networks.

Uniquely, the MemoCam DV-800 range can be programmed from any computer by loading the settings onto the mini SD card. When inserted into the DVR, it automatically uploads all configuration instructions. The SMS and email settings can be changed at any time using a GPRS enabled mobile phone and SMS messages can be sent to the unit requesting images to be transmitted providing confirmation of its operational status at any time.

Weighing 690g with dimensions of just 153 x 140 x 43mm, MemoCam DV-800 is firmware upgradeable to support releases of even higher capacity mini SD cards including the soon to be launched 8Gb version.
