Dutch minister to open critical infrastructure protection conference

The opening of the 2nd Critical Infrastructure Protection and Resilience Europe conference will see Mr Ivo Opstelten, Minister for Security and Justice of The Netherlands, deliver an opening keynote presentation.

Critical Infrastructure Protection and Resilience Europe will take place on 4th & 5th March 2015 at the Crowne Plaza Den Haag Promenade in The Hague, Netherlands and is hosted by the Ministry of Security & Justice and supported by The Municipality of The Hague and The Hague Security Delta, as well as other key industry bodies.

Minister Opstelten will open the conference and provide a strategic overview from the political position to the country's and Europe's changing position on security and the protection of its assets. The events last few weeks in Copenhagen, Paris and Brussels will have had an impact on these views.

The Ministers speech will be followed by Mr Fernando Sánchez, Director General of the National Centre for Critical Infrastructure Protection (CNPIC) of Spain, who will be highlighting the developments in the recently announced 'Constitution of the National Commission for Critical Infrastructure Protection, responsible for approving Strategic Sectoral Plans' in Spain.

Critical Infrastructure Protection and Resilience Europe is the leading conference in its field and will bring together stakeholders from industry, operators, agencies and governments to collaborate on securing Europe and is also supported by The Hague Security Delta, BORDERPOL, the National Security & Resilience Consortium, the European Centre for Information Protection & Security and Cyberpol, providing the platform for the industry to collaborate and learn on policies, strategies, best practice and techniques that will enhance the future or Europe’s and each individual country’s security of key infrastructure and continuity planning.
