|
Shock monitoring labels from Lamerholm have significantly reduced damage in transit to CCTV systems by preventing poor handling and notifying customer of poor handling |
|
Handle with Care sticker was just not enough for ezCCTV.com, the
leading UK supplier of high quality digital surveillance solutions,
remote monitoring and CCTV security systems. When the company wanted
to ensure that their customers received their fragile electronic
equipment on time and undamaged, they turned to damage deterrent
specialists, Lamerholm. Lamerholm supplies the ShockWatch range of
smart packaging labels, an innovative solution that detects and
records impact and ensures that both the couriers and their customers
know that the packages are being monitored.
“The use of the ShockWatch labels has greatly reduced the number of
damaged goods we get returned. Explains Richard Ogle, Warehouse
Manager at ezCCTV. “Many of the products we ship are fragile and have
components that can be damaged if they are subjected to knocks, bumps
and general mishandling. Adding the ShockWatch labels to our packages
means that the couriers are aware that the shipments are being
monitored and we can track at what stage of the logistics process the
damage has occurred.
ShockWatch labels are effective, highly visible devices that act as a
strong visual deterrent to unacceptable handling. The labels use
state-of-the-art technology to monitor the conditions under which the
goods are shipped and their use helps bring damage claims to a quick
resolution and protect against warranty abuse.
The labels contain a tube filled with red liquid held in suspension.
When the device is subjected to an impact exceeding a specified G-
level, the shock disrupts the surface tension of the liquid,
releasing the highly visible red dye into the length of the tube.
This creates a permanent and immediate indication of mishandling.
Once activated, the device cannot be reset.
