Combining Matrox monitor graphics cards with Boundless thin client technology, the companies now offer more flexibility for multi-monitor control room facilities. |

Matrox Graphics and Boundless Technologies have announced the availability of Matrox EpicA graphics cards and EpicA software with Boundless Technologies' ADDS 6700 thin client. With this combined offering, users benefit from significant productivity gains associated with the effective use of more screen real estate.
"The challenge of bringing flexible multi-display support to a thin client is twofold: first, the add-in device must be low power and passively cooled. Second, the behavior of windows management on a remote multi-monitor desktop needs to mirror the experience of using a traditional, local multi-monitor desktop," says Mohamed Jivraj, Product Manager, Matrox Graphics. 'With Matrox EpicA embedded, the ADDS 6700 gives users a secure and reliable thin client platform with rich multi-monitor and windows management options."
"We are very pleased to be partnering with Matrox Graphics, a partner who understands display technologies and the requirements of the financial and commodity markets," says John Ryan, COO of Boundless Technologies. "This partnership will allow Boundless to provide customers a multi-video desktop that consumes less than one-tenth the power of an equivalent PC desktop and boasts the industry's best desktop management software."
Matrox EpicA features dedicated hardware that includes DualHead (EpicA TC2 and EpicA TC2-Lite) and QuadHead (EpicA TC4) graphics cards. Key attributes include low power consumption, support for high resolutions with digital or analogue displays, widescreen resolutions, and pivot or rotation capabilities.
Matrox EpicA also constitutes software that enriches large remote desktops. Matrox EpicA restores multi-display awareness to help manage application window behaviour, while Matrox PowerSpace EpicA provides virtual desktop workspaces to better organise application access and deployment. Both applications are essential to capitalizing on the benefits of using multiple monitors.
Boundless Technologies ADDS 6700 thin client provides customers with a powerful, cost effective and secure alternative to desktop personal computers. The ADDS 6700 thin client supports a wide range of display configurations, comprised of two to six displays.
