Strong Authentication Gains Ground With Biometric Integration

Two Factor Authentication is moving steadily outside the banking industry with mobile workers and other applications making us of the technology for securing corporate networks

Imprivata is focusing on the Healthcare industry at the moment with its agentless OneSign solution providing strong authentication using tokens or tokenless structures including the ability for doctors and medical staff to access central records using their iPhones. The same company has also just struck a deal with Biometrics supplier Lumidigm. Lumidigm specialises in consumerised fingerprint identification systems for high throughput access control applications and is now operating in conjunction with Imprivata to supply dual factor fingerprint authentication for the health care industry.
