MEL Secure Systems has launched Raptor, a new wireless camera for covert applications. With no visible camera unit or aerial, it has been designed for mounting either on top or on the side of lamp posts to reduce street clutter and avoid alerting people that CCTV is in operation.
The Raptor system provides full PTZ functionality and 360deg vision with continuous rotation and 60deg camera tilt. It also features up to 36x optical and 10x digital zoom with a Sony day/night camera module with image stabilisation that provides evidential quality pictures at maximum zoom compensating for any camera movement.
COFDM transmission technology across standard 1.3, 2.4 and 5.8 GHz bands delivers high quality, interference free images from multiple cameras at distances of up to 4km without requiring line of sight. The cameras can be powered by 240v AC or 12v DC, making them ideal for both fixed and temporary installations.
