Wireless Network Security Hacking Specialist Takes Role At RandomStorm

Randomstorm : 06 July, 2010  (Company News)
RandomStorm has recruited ethical hacker to lead security experts at the company in penetration testing operations for restricted access networks
RandomStorm has announced the appointment of the leading ethical hacker Robin Wood, aka "DigiNinja", to head up its team of professional security experts.

The strategic appointment follows an extended period of growth for the company that has seen the business quickly become an established name in the network security sector through the widespread adoption of its range of integrated security and compliance management tools. Robin is tasked with heading up RandomStorm's Security Research and Penetration Testing arm of the business building on its PCI ASV status and recent CESG CHECK accreditation, which positions the company as one of a select group approved to work on the Government's restricted access networks.

Leading a team of ten highly qualified and experienced security professionals Robin will be responsible for extending the company's existing range of professional services, which includes full security audits, security health checks, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing and PCI DSS compliance management.

A respected authority and blogger within the ethical hacking community Robin has developed a number of security monitoring tools and patches published under his DigiNinja pseudonym, which he has made available for use by other specialist security professionals. He is also a regular contributor to the HaK5 IRC channel as well as Twitter where he shares his latest security insights with a growing band of loyal followers.

Robin is particularly renowned in the field of wireless network security and has developed his own "man-in-the-middle" tool "Jasager" that enables network security managers to detect and eliminate hack attacks via their corporate WLAN. Wireless networks are widely regarded as soft targets by individuals aiming to get round strong anti-malware defences deployed to protect network access and are often the point of failure during security compliance audits.

"Persuading Robin to join us is a major coup for RandomStorm," commented Chief Technologist Andrew Mason. "His reputation in the security industry is unrivalled and his leadership will ensure that we can stay at the forefront of innovation in the security management sector. The fact that he shares our vision to become the leaders, not followers, in the network security management sector is a great testament to the strength in-depth of the whole team."
