Wider network device support available on Tufin Open Platform

Tufin Technologies : 11 November, 2009  (New Product)
The open architecture security lifecycle management platform from Tufin Technologies now supports a wider range of network devices
Tufin Technologies it has released a set of 12 plug-ins, extending support of its robust solution set to a wider set of network devices. Showcasing the value and utility of Tufin's open extensible architecture, the Tufin Open Platform (TOP), Tufin has released plug-ins for switches and routers from industry leaders including Cisco, Juniper and HP. By extending Tufin's comprehensive, automated change tracking, in-depth security policy optimization, and built-in compliance reports across heterogeneous network infrastructures, Tufin enables organizations to cost-effectively manage network security policy, eliminate manual, error prone processes, comply with regulatory standards, and minimize IT risk. Supporting the broadest set of network infrastructure, Tufin continues to demonstrate its ability to innovate and successfully execute on its vision for Security Lifecycle Management.

"It is difficult to maintain the consistency and integrity of a security policy that is implemented across a range of network devices as the network and the business practices evolve." Said Graham Titterington, Principal Analyst at Ovum. "Tufin's automated approach to managing changes addresses these issues. It checks that a change will not violate the current policy implemented across the network."

Tufin has plug-ins for the following vendors immediately available for customers on the Tufin website:

Cisco Switches, Catalyst, Nexus, Content Services, Juniper Networks, EX Series Ethernet Switches, E Series IP Edge and Broadband Services Routers, SA Series SSL VPN Appliances, HP Procurve Switches, Dell Switches (PowerConnect/SMC), Nortel Networks Switches, Alteon WebOS, Bay Networks), Brocade Foundry Switches and Extreme Networks Switches.

Each plug-in provides SecureTrack and SecureChange Workflow functionality, enabling operations teams to leverage SecureTrack's change monitoring, automated reports and support for industry standards to improve policy management for each device.

The new plugin's come in addition to already supported security and network devices from the following vendors:

Check Point SmartCenter and Provider-1 including VSX gateways, Juniper NetScreen Series Security Systems, Cisco PIX, ASA and FWSM and Cisco IOS Routers and Switches, Fortinet F5 BIG-IP, Blue Coat ProxySG and Linux IPTables.

All plug-ins are available immediately for download off the Tufin website.

"From day one, our vision for Security Lifecycle Management was to streamline the convergence of network and security operations by automating policy management across the entire network," said Shaul Efraim, vice president of Products, Business Development and Marketing, Tufin. "Having leveraged the company's domain expertise in firewalls to deliver the most comprehensive and easy to use platform, we set the stage for expanding across the network with the launch of TOP earlier this year,. With this set of plug-ins, we've taken a major leap forward, and now offer our customers with the most robust feature set for the largest set of devices. Moving forward, we will continue help our customers seamlessly integrate security management as a core component of their operations processes.
