White paper on reducing IT risk whilst increasing value

Avocent : 29 April, 2009  (Technical Article)
EMA and LANDesk produce white paper on Managing the Value of IT Service Management"
LANDesk, an Avocent company, announces a new white paper, produced in collaboration with Enterprise Management Associates (EMA), which helps Service Desks and IT Support to successfully minimise risk and increase their perceived value by aligning IT with core business objectives. The white paper, called 'Managing the Value of IT Service Management' will be presented on the LANDesk Stand, No 500, at the Service Desk & IT Support Show, 28th to 29th April 2009, Earls Court, London.

Andy Baldin, LANDesk VP EMEA Sales, explains; "Against a landscape of global insecurity, shrinking IT budgets, and escalating demand and complexity, IT needs to be able to demonstrate that it offers tangible value. In order to do this, IT must move beyond its traditional position as a cost centre and take on a new role of business enabler."

The white paper presents a step-by-step guide and includes worksheets which allow Service Desks and IT Support, at all levels of maturity, to develop a sound business case for IT Service Management. The paper explains how to transform IT into a strategic business asset by delivering real and tangible value, and responding to changing organisational needs by managing complexity, providing value, controlling costs and balancing resources.

Baldin will present the seminar entitled 'Show me the Money', based on the white paper, at 10.30am, 28th April in Seminar Theatre 2 at the Service Desk and IT Support Show, Earls Court, London. Details of the seminar are available
