Webroot Supports CIF With New Membership

Webroot has become the latest company to join the Cloud Industry Forum (CIF), an organisation that is dedicated to promoting trust, security and transparency within the Cloud sector.

Webroot is also undertaking the process self-certification from CIF for its Cloud Service Provider Code of Practice.

Webroot provides Internet security solutions to end-users, including consumers, enterprises and small and medium businesses worldwide. Webroot protects individuals and corporate networks from threats such as viruses, hackers, data exposure, spam, spyware, utilising cloud computing power in its security solutions.

Ian Moyse, EMEA Channel Director of Webroot said: “We understand the importance of CIF’s goal, which is to assist business users in identifying and investing in secure and robust Cloud services. Webroot aims to stand out from other vendors by providing the best possible Cloud services to end users. The Code of practice enables professional Cloud Service Providers such as Webroot, to demonstrate with clarity their ethics, practices and processes through an independently recognised and credible body in order to build trust by association with prospective customers.”

Andy Burton, Chairman of the Cloud Industry Forum commented: “Ian and the team at Webroot have been championing Cloud computing for a long time which is why we are delighted that Webroot is joining CIF. Evangelists such as Webroot play can play a valuable role in the future of CIF and its Code of Practice. There is no doubt that those organisations seeking to use cloud services need a straightforward form of certification or 'code of practice' for potential suppliers that will accurately define the services offered, standards of operation and security. Webroot is the latest cloud services provider to see the business benefits for both the end-user and vendor perspective and we are pleased to have them on board.”
