Webinar to be held on combating online fraud for airlines

41st Parameter : 30 June, 2009  (New Product)
Continental Airlines representative discusses the fight against online air ticketing fraud in forthcoming webinar organised by 41st Parameter
The airline industry saw over $1 Billion in lost revenues last year. Now, according to the recent Airline Online Fraud Survey, curtailing fraud loss and profit protection are key initiatives for airlines during tough economic times.

Some airlines, including Continental Airlines and US Air, are using technology to fight back and combat the rise in sophisticated fraud attacks across multiple card-not-present channels. This allows for legitimate sale of seat capacity and revenue retention. Find out how by joining a webinar where Continental Airlines will explain what is it doing to combat fraud and the metrics that it has achieved so far.

Jack Harbaugh, senior vice president of business development at 41st Parameter, a leading provider of fraud detection and prevention systems to the Airline Industry, explains: 'The airline industry has been victimised by fraud, costing over $1 Billion in lost revenues last year alone. Bad debt write-offs and reservation fraud can be substantially reduced and often prevented by combining transactional data with information about the device being used to book the reservation. This approach, facilitated by commercially available technology tools, gives investigators the intelligence they need to better decision risky transactions.'

The webinar will be held on July 9th at 6:00pm BST. This one hour event includes a Q&A session open to all participants, please click here for more information or if you would like to join the webinar, please email Caroline Addy at caddy@iba-europe.com or call her on 01780 721 433.
