Virtual Infrastructure For German Kitchen Manufacturer

VizionCore : 08 July, 2010  (Application Story)
Nobilia of Germany takes range of virtualised solutions from Vizioncore including the vRanger backup and recovery system
Vizioncore has announced that its products have been selected by nobilia, Germany's largest kitchen manufacturer, to provide administration and management for its virtualized IT infrastructure.

vRanger backup and recovery solution has replaced VMware Consolidated Backup (VCB) throughout nobilia's infrastructure. Where a full backup may once have taken four hours, nobilia is now able to run the same process in just 15 minutes. In addition, nobilia is implementing vFoglight, a virtual server monitoring solution, to enable the company to visualize its entire virtual infrastructure through a simple monitoring portal.

From its base in Verl, Germany, nobilia produces 450,000 kitchens every year and is known throughout Europe for developing products of the highest quality. The company recently increased the burden on its IT infrastructure following the integration of its logistics arm, and in addition had to manage the 1,000 users that were already active on the system. nobilia felt that the product maturity, price-performance ratio and intuitive user interface offered by Vizioncore technology provided the perfect mix for managing the increased complexity of its virtual infrastructure.

"Vizioncore offers a comprehensive solution for the administration of VMware ESX clusters and we have been able to save up to 75% of our time by using vRanger and vFoglight, which would previously have been spent on unnecessary tasks such as error tracking," explained Peter Fischer, team leader for IT infrastructure at nobilia. "We have already been able to claw back our investment in Vizioncore products and we're now saving even more. The more complex your virtual environment, the greater your need for Vizioncore."

Crucially, Vizioncore enables nobilia to redirect IT budget funds, which were previously allocated to data protection and tracking errors within its ESX environment, towards more strategic initiatives to benefit the company.

"nobilia has a reputation for providing high quality products that offer great value for money; these values are also closely adhered to by Vizioncore. The roll out at nobilia has been entirely stress free, and we are delighted to see that our vRanger and vFoglight products have exceeded nobilia's expectations," said Roger Baskerville, vice president of sales, EMEA at Vizioncore. "The virtualization market in Germany is very mature, and it has been part of the worldwide growth Vizioncore has experienced over the past 12 months. This has predominantly been led by the cost reduction, management advantages and resource utilisation offered by Vizioncore products."
