Virtual firewall service from NetBenefit

NetBenefit : 10 September, 2009  (New Product)
Hosted firewalls from Fortinet added to the virtual network defence offering from NetBenefit
NetBenefit is adding a virtual firewall service to its existing range of dedicated and shared firewall services.

Supporting up to 10,000 user sessions and with a throughput of 35 megabits per second, the virtual firewall will complement NetBenefit's existing range of Fortinet firewalls. Configured to ensure high availability, the virtual firewall offers many of the features available with a NetBenefit dedicated firewall at a more cost effective price.

In addition to blocking unauthorised access to a customer's hosted servers, the virtual firewall also includes Virtual Private Network (VPN) support to help businesses of all sizes meet their security challenges. Based on industry leader Fortinet's portfolio of FortiGate technology, NetBenefit's firewall range caters for all business requirements from the simplest website through to complex online applications for the enterprise.

Michael Hassan, product manager at NetBenefit comments: "Security is high on the list of priorities for both NetBenefit and our customers. Our virtual firewall solution is based on a firewall infrastructure that ensures a robust failover service, providing all of our customers with business continuity and peace of mind."

Colin Bell, managing director at NetBenefit, comments: "Due to the cost effectiveness and green credentials of virtualisation, it is a key area for NetBenefit's product development team. Our main concern, however, is the reliability and performance of our customers' business critical web presence. With the virtual firewall we are able to offer both. It essentially performs and appears as a dedicated firewall but at a much lower cost."
