Vigilys chosen by US port authority for incident management.

SYS Technologies : 27 November, 2007  (Application Story)
Vigilys Incident Management System to be supplied by SYS Technologies to the Philadelphia Port Authority including hand held system access.
SYS Technologies has been awarded a contract with the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority (PRPA) in Philadelphia, PA to install SYS' Vigilys Incident Management System.

"This award represents a continued endorsement of our Vigilys solution for the public safety and security market and an opportunity to demonstrate specific capabilities for port security and protection," said Cliff Cooke, president and CEO of SYS. "Vigilys will enable PRPA to improve security and incident response, while integrating into the emerging regional public safety and homeland security infrastructure of Philadelphia. The protection and security of our nation's ports is a major initiative of the Department of Homeland Security, and our involvement with PRPA demonstrates SYS' success in supporting this important initiative."

Vigilys Incident Management System is a data interoperability and tactical situational awareness and collaboration application product. As part of the installation SYS will utilise the existing 802.16 wireless infrastructure to support the port security force and port administration using PDA devices and IP cameras. The system will also enable the sharing of information from PRPA to the United States Coast Guard, which will enable them to observe an incident at the port.
