Panasonic System Networks Company of America is unveiling two vandal-resistant additions to its lineup of i-PRO SmartHD network dome cameras at ISC West. The new WV-SW355 HD (1280 x 960) and WV-SW352 SVGA (800 x 600) are both IEC 60068 50J high-rated for impact resistance, significantly higher than their competition. These fixed dome 1.3 megapixel IP cameras both feature Super Dynamic camera technology with face detection to deliver outstanding performance in virtually any lighting condition.
Responding to customers’ needs for faster transmission speeds with HD quality, these new Fixed Dome Network Cameras offer Variable Image Quality on Specified Area (VIQS) technology. This allows designated areas to retain higher image quality, while the excluded area will have a decreased image quality, enabling a lower image size and bit rate.
Featuring Panasonic’s newly developed 1.3 megapixel high sensitivity MOS sensor for outstanding image quality and lower power consumption, the units’ Super Dynamic and Adaptive Black Stretch (ABS) technologies deliver 128x wide dynamic range. Additional features include multiple H.264 (High profile) and JPEG video streams for simultaneous real-time monitoring and high-resolution recording, full frame video transmission, and face detection analytics. Available in April 2011, the WV-SW355 HD and WV-SW352 SVGA cameras are IP66 rated for water and dust resistance and are also equipped with a dehumidification device.
“Panasonic continues to set new benchmarks with our high vandal-resistance rating (IEC 60068 50J) and advanced feature sets,” said Bill Taylor, President, Panasonic System Networks Company of America. “Our technology advances are made with the firm objective of improving safety and security for our customers.”
The new i-PRO SmartHD WV-SW355 and WV-SW352 vandal-resistant fixed dome cameras use Panasonic's UniPhier® LSI chip (H.264 high-profile format) to combine HD video and real-time video streaming at a lower data size, helping to conserve bandwidth. To increase user system options, the camera is Open Network Video Interface (ONVIF)-compliant, while system migration is more easily facilitated with the H.264 or MPEG-4 selectable compression formats. Face Super Dynamic is combined with a face-detection function to clearly focus in on faces and transmit the information by XML or video stream. The cameras are equipped with a 2.8 – 10mm varifocal lens with up to 7.2x optical zoom with VGA resolution for sharp images, making identification of individuals and events easier.
Additional features include true day/night function for low-light sensitivity of 0.3 lux in color and 0.05 lux (B/W) at f1.6 (wide) on the WV-SW355 and 0.2 lux in color and 0.04 lux (B/W) at f1.6 (wide) on the WV-SW352; adaptive Digital Noise Reduction (2D-DNR and 3D-DNR integration) for reduced noise and motion blur in various conditions; progressive scan for clear images without motion blur or tearing, and H.264 full-frame-rate video recording using an SD/SD-HC Memory Card.
