OSI Systems has been awarded a $3.2 million contract to provide multiple screening systems, including Rapiscan's advanced 600 series checkpoint, parcel and baggage inspection systems, to the Vancouver Olympic Games to be held February 12 - March 21, 2010.

OSI Systems CEO, Deepak Chopra, stated, "We are proud to continue our relationship with such a prestigious international sporting event and to assist in ensuring the safety of Olympic athletes and those who come to experience the spirit of international competition. Our total security solutions are an ideal fit for securing large venues because their advanced technologies and portable designs address challenges posed by factors like multiple threats, high volumes of people and objects as well as diverse deployment terrains."

Rapiscan System's legacy of securing international sporting competitions spans continents as well as decades. Rapiscan total security solutions have been at the Commonwealth Games of Malaysia (1998) and Manchester (2002) and Melbourne (2006), the Asian Games (2006) in Doha Qatar, as well as the Olympic Games in Atlanta (1996), Nagano (1998), Sydney (2000) and Salt Lake City (2002).

The Rapiscan Systems' 600 series of baggage and parcel screening solutions are designed for rapid relocation and easy deployment in a variety of terrains and space constricted areas, making them an ideal for large venues with numerous points of entry. The 600 series systems include dual-energy transmission X-ray scanning for detection of organic and inorganic materials, as well as sophisticated image analysis tools and an intuitive, easy-to-operate Graphical User Interface.
