Connexion2 has been acquired by the US emergency communications company, Kings III of America in a strategic move to strengthen the companies' product ranges on either side of the Atlantic and to develop sales strategies in new target markets.
Both businesses already supply products to a range of market sectors and share a strong customer-centric strategy. The acquisition will allow the business to increase the scale of its lone worker system supplies in North America and Europe whilst ensuring that customers continue to receive innovative, fit for purpose solutions backed by exemplary customer support.
Connexion2 was launched in 2003, backed by investors including South Yorkshire Investment Fund, and manufacture the UK’s most widely deployed lone worker device called Identicom. Identicom is a unique communication device being worn discreetly and providing comprehensive protection to a lone working user. There are now over 110,000 devices in circulation offering users a host of functionality including 24/7 support, truly discreet form factor, verbal abuse capture, Man Down detection, SiRF IV GPS and an innovative camera function.
Kings III was founded in 1989 and provides emergency communication solutions to customers across North America. The business also provides a host of associated turnkey systems for use in elevators, swimming pools, in garages, car parks, cash machines, arenas and large facilities. Kings III has a state of the art Emergency Dispatch Centre staffed with operators equipped with advanced training certifications.
Connexion2 will retain its existing trading name and its SoloProtect brand throughout the United Kingdom. Kings III’s acquisition will help to enable the further development of a number of key European & Asian markets. Additionally, Kings III will supplement its produc range in the US with a new North American Division of SoloProtect, formerly branded discreetSOS prior to the acquisition, featuring Kings III Emergency Dispatch Centre Monitoring.
