US border control briefing by Frost and Sullivan.

Frost And Sullivan : 10 April, 2008  (Technical Article)
With growing acceptance of Biometrics technology by the US Government, Frost and Sullivan gather analysts to examine the related issues.
The Electronics and Security Group at Frost & Sullivan is pleased to announce its 2008 Quarterly Analyst Briefing Presentation on the North American border control applications market to be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at 10:00 am PST.

Biometrics technology has begun to gain acceptance throughout the US government. The need for immigration control and enhanced security drives the need for focused products and services to meet the needs of clients. Higher accuracy and developing business strategies are anticipated to be the major driving forces over the long term. However, harmonisation of global standards and raising awareness levels of the technology are imperative for higher adoption rates.

This briefing will benefit biometric vendors, security companies, distributors and system integrators by discussing major drivers, challenges and emerging trends for the North American border control applications market.

"There has been a shift in dynamics with increased adoption of fingerprint, face and iris recognition in border control applications," notes Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Neelima Sagar. "However, there is still a need for reduced sales cycle and instituting regulatory compliance to contribute significant revenues in this vertical."
