Trusted Client Provides Answer To New US Teleworker Legislation

BeCrypt : 11 February, 2011  (New Product)
As the new Teleworker Bill comes into force in America, Becrypt is providing Trusted Client enabling workers to operate remotely from the office in a secure environment
Becrypt has added its voice to those applauding the Telework Enhancement Act. The act, which became law in December 2010, requires federal agencies to establish telework policies and make teleworking an option for many more staff. It is estimated that over 1 million federal employees will now be able to telework for at least part of their week. Teleworking is also to be included in business continuity plans for federal agencies.

Keith Rickets Global Head of Marketing at Becrypt commented, “Teleworking or home working as long been popular in the commercial sector, and now federal government is also able to reap the benefits of increased efficiency, lower infrastructure overheads and better employee morale. Rep. Frank Wolf who has been an advocate of telework for 20 years and is a lead author of the Telework Enhancement Act has described it as ‘a cost savings measure that will help the federal government implement a flexible workplace strategy proven successful in the private sector’, a view point that Becrypt wholeheartedly agrees with. ”

Becrypt has been leading the market with its innovative, ultra low cost, yet highly secure solutions that enable people to work from home, even using their own computer. Its award winning Becrypt Trusted Client, which can be carried on a USB thumb drive, provides a trusted environment even from an un-trusted or unmanaged PC, because it is totally isolated from the host computer’s OS. As the host hard drive is not accessed, there is no cross contamination of malicious code and no data can be saved locally which stops data leakage. Becrypt Trusted Client can be configured to meet individual organization’s requirements, and can be integrated with Citrix and VMware to provide staff with assured access to corporate or government networks.

Keith Ricketts continued, “By implementing Becrypt Trusted Client, our clients have been able to save hundreds of thousands of dollars because they are able reduce office space and all the associated overheads, and they no longer need to issue staff with costly laptops. Instead they can give them a USB thumb drive or a low cost netbook with Becrypt Trusted Client installed which provides a highly secure method of working. There is no risk of data leakage or infection of the corporate network by malware from home PCs and the solution can be used in a business continuity situation. Workers are more productive, government departments can offer a more efficient service to citizens and staff morale is boosted.”

Becrypt Trusted Client, along with Becrypt’s other products, is on show at the RSA Conference, 14 – 18 February, Moscone Centre, San Francisco. Booth # 2129
