Training centre opens for security guards

Safeguard Security Holdings : 11 January, 2010  (Company News)
SYSTEMSgroup has opened a new training centre at its headquarters for training and certification for security personnel
Safeguard Security Holdings, a provider of corporate, industrial and residential security solutions, has announced that its subsidiary, SYSTEMSgroup will open its new security training centre on February 22nd and will offer state approved security officer training services and certification for other security agencies. The centre is located in Safeguard's newly expanded corporate headquarters which is scheduled for completion later this month.

Michael Lagow, CEO for the parent company to SYSTEMSgroup, stated, "The construction of this centre began in November of last year when we started the video monitoring centre project. The state of Texas is changing its training mandates and will no longer allow security officers to take certain training measures online. They will need classroom hours in order to obtain their certifications. We see an opportunity to create a profit centre out of our existing Training Academy by offering training services and certifications on a fee basis to other security companies." Lagow added, "There are only a few state approved training academies in the state of Texas and we are one of them. It has been a cost centre for us and now we can turn this program into a profit centre and expand our training services by offering customized programs to fit the needs of our patrons' clientele."

Shelly Anderson, Vice President of Operations, stated, "Michael (Lagow) has already been contacted by an agency in Mexico requesting customized training services for a large campus project there. Planning begins next month as our client group arrives in Dallas to map out the needed security training curriculum to accommodate the task. With our new state-of-the-art classroom, we are able to provide these types of customized services." Anderson added, "The new training centre allows us to create a new business unit, generating profitable reoccurring revenue for the company and will open other opportunities to sell our value-add services."
