Three new members join FAST Board

The Federation Against Software Theft gains three new board members to strengthen the legal expertise on its team
FAST IiS has announced three appointments to its board of directors. Joining the board are Nick Kounoupias, partner at law firm DMH Stallard, Mark Cresswell, President of Asset Lifecycle Management provider Scalable Software and Alex Hilton, Vice President Sales at software vendor FrontRange Solutions.

FAST IiS is the UK not-for-profit organisation that promotes the legitimate use of software, focusing on educating business users, promoting standards, lobbying the Government for intellectual property (IP) protection and ensuring copyright compliance for the health of the industry.

Chief Executive John Lovelock commented on the appointments: "I welcome Alex, Mark and Nick to the board and wish them every success in helping to shape the future of FAST IiS. Their significant industry expertise is a valuable addition to our existing board of IT luminaries and experts, and will help drive our mission to educate corporate UK in software asset management and compliance."

Nick Kounoupias is a partner at FLAG (Federation Legal Advisory Group) member firm DMH Stallard, and practices in the Dispute Resolution Group specialising in all forms of Intellectual Property (particularly copyright law), Human Rights and Cultural Property disputes. Nick was previously Head of Litigation at the MCPS-PRS Music Alliance and managed the music industry anti-piracy unit for ten years. Nick is a Council member of the Anti-Counterfeiting Group, Chair of its enforcement sub-committee and a former vice Chairman of the Alliance against IP Theft. He was previously Chair of the online anti-piracy committee of BIEM, the international umbrella organisation of music industry collecting societies. Nick is also a fully accredited mediator with several successful mediations' experience.

Mark Cresswell is CEO of Asset Lifecycle Management provider Scalable Software. Prior to his position at Scalable, Mark served as CEO of NEON Systems, Inc. NEON was a NASDAQ listed company that specialised in middleware to integrate IBM mainframes. Prior to NEON, Mark was Managing Director of Framesoft, a private Swiss company that developed solutions for the investment banking market. A programmer by training, Mark has broad industry experience in development, sales, marketing and product management.
