Thermo Fisher to distribute ICx Radiation equipment

Thermo Fisher Scientific - (Radiation Monitoring) : 15 May, 2009  (Company News)
Detection equipment from ICx Radiation to be distributed under new agreement by the radiation measurement and security instruments division of Thermo Fisher Scientific
Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced that its Radiation Measurement and Security Instruments (RMSI) business will expand its distribution agreement with ICx Radiation to comprise all of the innovative ICx Radiation product lines, including the identiFINDER, Interceptor, Raider, radHunter and STRIDE. The RMSI team has successfully partnered with ICx Radiation (formerly Target Instruments) over the last 15 years in the distribution of the Thermo Scientific identiFINDER, as well as the development and launch of the first-of-its-kind Thermo Scientific Interceptor spectroscopic personal radiation detector (SPRD) in 2006. ICx Radiation is a business unit of ICx Technologies, a developer of advanced technology solutions for homeland and military security based in Arlington, Va.

"The ICx Radiation product line, combined with Thermo Scientific radiation measurement products, have provided local, state and federal agencies in the United States an unparalleled offering to address their radiation detection and identification challenges," said Adam Grose, vice president and general manager of the Radiation Measurement and Security Instruments business. "This expanded agreement enables us to offer the world's most advanced portfolio of hand-held and portable solutions to our core global security, defense, and civil agency customers."

The expanded agreement will enable the RMSI business to aggressively distribute a wider range of radiation detection solutions including multi-channel analyzers and next generation radionuclide identifier/pager systems. The entire ICx Radiation product portfolio will be represented, with special emphasis on the identiFINDER, Interceptor, Raider, radHUNTER, and STRIDE detection instruments.

"We have worked very successfully with the Radiation Measurement and Security Instruments business of Thermo Fisher Scientific for many years in North and South America, and this extension of our partnership provides both groups with a unique opportunity to offer our customers outstanding detection solutions in the pursuit of making the world a safer place," said Juergen Stein, president and CEO of ICx Radiation.
