Global Entertainment Consortium, Rubicon Group Holding (RGH), is using TDSi’s access control and security systems to secure its vital central server facility in Amman, Jordan. Locally based security installer and TDSi partner Soter Security specified and installed a MICROgarde controller and two EXprox readers, supplying TDSi proximity cards for authorised individuals to gain access.
Rubicon Group Holding is a global transmedia company specialising in multi-platform digital production, educational content, and location-based themed entertainment. Headquartered in Amman, Jordan, RGH has over 200 employees, working in Amman, Los Angeles, Manila and Dubai, dedicated to pursuing the mission of making RGH a global leader in the world of entertainment, and educational properties
Business Development Manager of Soter Security, Yazeed Jaraba, commented, “RGH needed a physical access system for its central server room at the Amman Headquarters and approached Soter Security to specify and install the ideal system. TDSi’s solutions were specified because they offer a cost effective and highly secure method of not only securing the server room but also granting straightforward and reliable access to authorised people who will need to enter and leave the restricted area on a frequent basis.”
As well as securing the access to the server room, RGH also specified that it wanted to record which individuals enter and also exit the room and at what times. Soter Security therefore installed a TDSi EXprox reader on the inside as well as outside of the secure area to keep a log of the traffic moving both ways. However, in the interests of safety, RGH also specified that the system be linked to the fire control system so that in the case of an emergency, the doors could be opened automatically to ensure everyone is able to exit the building.
TDSi’s MICROgarde controller is ideal for installations such as RGH’s server room as it delivers a wealth of access control features and functionality. The Windows-based PC application minimises the need for training providing users with both familiarity and confidence. With an easy-to-use interface connecting to fire and intruder alarm systems, MICROgarde also offers wider integration capabilities to other security and management systems through a simple Application Programming Interface. It also offers fully networkable functionality, so the access control system can be monitored and managed remotely from a secure remote connection.
TDSi’s EXprox high quality access control card readers provide robust, reliable performance through contactless technology for a wide range of applications. With a read range up to 90cm, these fully featured readers are available in a number of options for maximum design flexibility. The readers can be tailored to suit different aesthetic requirements, are mountable internally or externally, allow connection to all standard access control panels and provide both audible and visual indicators of successful access.
Reflecting on the Amman installation, IT Audit and Project Planning Manager at RGH, Jad Mishrekey, commented, “Having remote access to the security systems means that our team can easily monitor the security of our server facility from any of our sites or indeed from any remote location that has a secure Internet connection. Our servers are at the very heart of our business, storing and maintaining the media content that we produce and therefore need an excellent level of security, but also with practical authorised access for maintenance. Soter Security’s installation of TDSi products has given us peace of mind that we can guard access and track the movements of users, whilst having the safety net that this can be overridden in the event of a fire emergency. We would happily recommend Sober Security’s expertise and TDSi’s products to other businesses looking for secure, flexible and excellent value for money security solutions which are perfect for protecting essential facilities.”
