TDSi Director takes role in BSIA

TDSi : 18 August, 2008  (Company News)
The Access Control Committee of the BSIA to be led by TDSi's Operation Director after his appointment by the industry association
The BSIA has announced that Mike Sussman, Engineering and Operations Director of TDSi, has been appointed Chairman of the Association's Access Control Committee, with John Davies, TDSi's Managing Director, taking the role of Vice Chairman of the Export Council.

The principal aim of the Access Control Committee is to raise awareness amongst end-users and specifiers of the different types of equipment that are available - and the most appropriate environments in which to use them. The BSIA works to ensure that companies in the sector can deal with the implications of quickly changing technology, and is heavily involved in the development of standards at both national and European level. Mike is also Chairman of TC/8, the Technical Committee associated with the Access Section which is directly responsible for developing the BSIA guides and commenting and advising on standards.

Commenting on his role, Mike said: "I believe that our industry is a real beacon of innovation and I'm looking forward to working closely with my colleagues to lead the growth in access control and integrated systems in both existing and developing markets".

Working in close partnership with UK Trade and Investment, the Export Council gives information and advice on export issues, maintains contact with commercial officers at UK embassies, and organises trade missions and attendance at overseas exhibitions.

"I'm delighted to be involved with this group", he said. "The security market is a truly global one and it's important that we focus our efforts in the areas where there is the greatest opportunity for UK businesses. Although each of our companies fights hard for business, I think it's very positive for the industry that competitors come together in this way, professionally representing the industry as a whole and jointly seeking to develop it".
