Automation engineers can learn about the latest trends in industrial cybersecurity at the 3rd International mGuard User Conference, jointly presented by Innominate Security Technologies and Phoenix Contact. The event will be held October 9-10, 2013 in the Swedish Phoenix Contact headquarters near Stockholm.
Dr Konstantinos Moulinos, expert in ICS and SCADA security at the European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA), will present the keynote address on protecting industrial control systems and give recommendations for Europe and member states.
Attendees will hear success stories and lessons learned from use cases of the mGuard industrial security products at customers such as ABB, MAN Diesel & Turbo, K R Pfiffner et al. They will learn about best practices in supporting remote locations, protecting their network and control equipment, and assuring the integrity of industrial PCs.
Cost for the conference is 299 Euros, which covers participation in the event, the October 9 conference dinner at the Vasa Museum restaurant, and all other meals during the conference.
"The need for efficient remote operation and servicing of industrial equipment and the evident demand of those remote access capabilities being closely secured against any form of abuse have been the primary drivers to deploy industrial security technology for a couple of years. Following the discoveries of Stuxnet and other more recent cyber threats, there is now also a significant rise in awareness for the local vulnerabilities of even allegedly isolated industrial systems and critical infrastructures,” said Torsten Rössel, Chief Marketing Officer for Innominate. "This conference is an excellent platform for automation engineers and IT professionals to learn and discuss about the measures they can and should actively take to ensure the security and the integrity of their industrial networks."
The 3rd International mGuard User Conference will take place on Wednesday, October 9th and Thursday, October 10th, 2013 at the Phoenix Contact headquarters at Linvagen 2, 14144 Huddinge, Sweden.
