Surface mount and waterproof warning devices available from KAC.

KAC Alarms : 24 May, 2007  (New Product)
Comprehensive range of modular warning devices announced by KAC including both audible and visible signals and available in a number of different mounting options.
The new family of addressable audible visual products from KAC are available in two configurations, Wall mounted or detector base units, both available as sounders, strobes or combined sounder strobes. The versatility of the family is further increased by having bases which are common across the range and available in low profile, IP44 surface mounting or IP55 waterproof versions. All bases are fitted with shorting springs that maintain loop continuity before the device itself is installed. Identical in concept to the way in which detectors are installed, only the base needs to be installed at first fix, reducing the risk of damage to the devices before the system is finally commissioned. If the configuration of the protected building is changed after fire system has been installed, the type of warning device can be easily changed in a simple swap out procedure without having to disturb the loop wiring.

The sounders offer 32 different tones, are fitted with a two-stage DIP switch selectable volume control, have a maximum output of 100dB(A) at 1m and draw 6.8mA. The LED array strobes are available with red, amber or clear lenses, and draw just over 2mA current. The sounders are third party approved to EN54-3 and the strobe conforms to the requirements of draft EN54-23.

All versions are 115mm in diameter. As standard they operate under the System Sensor communications protocol with the panel; the design enables other popular protocols to be ported to the units. All types are optionally available with built-in isolation, operating voltage is 15 - 32VDC and an anti-tamper feature prevents removal from the base without the use of a tool.
