Strong authentication software gains industry recognition.

TriCipher : 06 February, 2008  (New Product)
TACS from TriCipher scores a perfect 5 in trials of its ability to cope with multifactor authentication challenges.
TriCipher's flagship solution is featured in SC Magazine's January 2008 review on multifactor authentication solutions, scoring a perfect 5-star rating. The TriCipher Armored Credential System (TACS) - the industry's most flexible solution for issuing a variety of low-cost, secure credentials - scored a solid 5 out of 5 stars on Features, Performance and Documentation, earning the publication's coveted "Recommended" honour.

The review, performed by SC Magazine technology editor Peter Stephenson, praised TACS for living up to its reputation as "a truly integrated system that delivers authentication with the strength of public key infrastructure (PKI) that offers the ease of entering a user name and password."

TACS secures credentials away from hackers' reach, preventing online threats ranging from basic phishing to sophisticated man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks (like the recent Silentbanker Trojan) to next-generation man-in-the-browser (MITB) attacks. Though malicious code like Silentbanker evolves based on banks' levels of authentication - for example, username and password only, or browser cookies - TACS safeguards online users regardless of the fraudsters' attack method.

The January 2008 review marks the second outstanding assessment of the TriCipher solution by SC Magazine's reviewers; in September 2006, the magazine concluded that "TriCipher is the strongest authentication money can buy."

The review highlighted the TACS "strong feature set" several times:.

• "This product, from an end-user perspective, was very simple to use, especially considering all the high level authentication actions being performed seamlessly in the background."
• "The Armoured VPN provides a strong authentication for VPN applications, which is easy for remote users to authenticate."
• TriCipher's ID Tool ToGo, the first portable, affordable solution to protect online information via a multi-use device, "is not just a token, but a simple, cost-effective USB smart drive that authenticates user credentials."

Additionally, the magazine said that TACS' performance "is first rate," with "excellent" speed for user authentication. TriCipher "documentation is in-depth and concise" as well, providing customers "a walk-through of deployment and configuration."

"Data theft - especially from lax authentication and sophisticated phishing attacks - continues to plague organisations of all sizes," said John De Santis, CEO of TriCipher. "Only by listening to end-users' needs on the front lines can we achieve the dual security and convenience requirements that businesses' employees and customers demand."
