South Pacific Offshoot Acquired By Datacard Group

Datacard Group : 26 July, 2010  (Company News)
Joint venture for the distribution and support of ID cards and identity verification systems in the South Pacific region becomes a Datacard subsidiary after acquisition
Datacard Group is pleased to announce the acquisition of their long time partner, Datacard South Pacific (DCSP).

Previously a Datacard Group distributor and joint venture affiliate, DCSP provides pre- and post-sales support services for the broad range of Datacard Group's secure ID and card personalization systems and software in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

"DCSP has done a fantastic job supporting our customers, while building vibrant business opportunities in our key markets for many years," said Angus McDougall, Datacard Group regional vice president for Asia Pacific. "Now, as a wholly owned subsidiary, DCSP and its customers will benefit from the full support and resources of Datacard Group's entire global infrastructure."

As part of the new organization, Datacard Group is also pleased to announce that Michael Robertson has been appointed as Regional Director - South Pacific, reporting to McDougall.

Robertson has held numerous sales & services roles with DCSP since joining the organization in 1999. Prior to that, Robertson worked with one of Datacard Group's largest customers in the South Pacific, Leigh Mardon (now ABNote). He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, and is currently completing his MBA from Monash University in Melbourne.

"Michael's experience and customer acumen will help to make this a seamless transition for our customers," continued McDougall. "But it is his leadership and industry insights that will help us build this business for tomorrow and beyond. We could not be more pleased to have Michael in this role."
