Soloprotect gains police chief award at IFSEC

Connexion2 : 05 June, 2007  (New Product)
Soloprotect lone worker protection and monitoring system gains recognition from the Association of Chief Police Officers at this year's IFSEC exhibition.
Connexion2, manufacturer of the award-winning Identicom lone worker device and the company behind the highly acclaimed SoloProtect best-of-breed protection service for lone working staff, has won the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) Award. Part of the IFSEC Security Industry Innovation Awards that run alongside the world's leading annual security event, IFSEC, the ACPO award recognises the company that it feels has made the biggest impact on public safety through the intelligent use of technology.

The large number of entries for the award was whittled down to just five finalists. An eminent panel of judges consisting of Peter Davies Assistant Chief Constable for Lincolnshire Police, Bobby Lounge of Interconnective/infologue.com, Brian Sims, Editor of Security Management Today and Tim Geddes, Active Security Group chose Connexion2's SoloProtect for the very first ACPO award.

They said: "We are impressed with the impact this product is having on the market and how it has been developed to specific ACPO standards. We feel that is improves public safety, whilst supporting lone workers and providing a service to others".

Accepting the award, Chris Allcard, Business Development Manager for Connexion2 said, "We are delighted that SoloProtect has made such an impression on the judges. It is directly helping Police by eliminating escalating false alarms, collecting valuable audio evidence and aiding the reduction of workplace violence."

For an all-inclusive price of just £29.50 per month, the SoloProtect service provides the five-core elements that are essential for a credible and complete lone worker solution. Incorporating the Identicom device, SIM and inclusive airtime, user training, 24 hour manned monitoring and unique TotalCare pre & post sale customer support, SoloProtect provides customers with an uncomplicated approach to pricing, implementation and use.

Connexion2's Identicom device is the only product on the market that truly addresses the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) guidelines on Panic Alarms (PAs) by providing discreet dual verification in a dedicated for purpose unit. Looking like a normal ID holder but equipped with a tri-band GSM module, Identicom, through SoloProtect, can be used to summon emergency assistance without increasing the personal risk to the worker and only when absolutely required.
