Control-See Software Solutions : 13 March, 2008  (Application Story)
Water treatment plants across Ireland linked to alarm notification system enabling EPS operations staff to gain immediate SMS alerts of alarm conditions
EPS is the largest Irish owned Company involved in the Design manufacture, Installation & Commissioning of Water & Wastewater Treatment Solutions, Pumping Solutions & ongoing Operation & Maintenance of same. EPS have designed, built and now have a 20 year operation contract of 33 water treatment plants located across 6 counties in Ireland. The telemetry system is using EDGE/GPRS technology for real-time plant and data monitoring. The SCADA system is GE Fanuc Cimplicity View with a Kepware OPC Server. U.C.ME-OPC SMS alarming software is used to inform the EPS operations staff of critical alarm conditions via SMS messaging.

EPS operations are particularly happy with the flexibility of inhibiting and varying time delays of the alarms and also the recipient shift setup and flexibility as they have operators varying shifts regularly. With the added functionality of text request for the current status of an individual plant giving the reply of all current major instrument data to their mobiles, enable them to diagnose potential problems before they happen. Development of the above system was by Dynamic Automation, Rearour, Aherla, Co Cork, Ireland.
