Sleeve light for ropes and chains
Defense Holdings announces an addition to its AfterGlow product line. SleeveLight is a high-performance, rechargeable, long-lasting, cylindrical photoluminescent sleeve with a cruciform cavity running its length. Photoluminescent SleeveLight slides over chains, wires, ropes, rods, and straps to provide a versatile, cost-effective, glow-in-the-dark, marking capability that can help prevent personnel injuries and equipment damage in low light situations where safety is a concern.

Flight decks on aviation-capable ships and cargo decks on naval and merchant vessels often present a dimly-lit maze of tie-downs of various types, and the possibility of personnel injury from an unplanned encounter is very real. The probability of injury is only heightened during an emergency when people are moving fast and distractions abound. SleeveLight is available in a number of sizes. Other AfterGlow Safety Marking Products are available at the AfterGlowDirect Web Store.

Rich Martin, DHi's President and CEO, states "Defense Holding first explored using a PL sleeve to mark tie-down chains for our US Naval Carrier Forces after receiving exceedingly positive feedback from the Fleet regarding our PL paints applied to blade tips of propeller driven aircraft. The interest is in providing a visible means on flight decks that could prevent injuries that inevitably occur when people or equipment trip over or run into tie-downs in the dark. It is surprising how often this happens. SleeveLight provides a reliable and cost-effective solution that can be slipped over most types of chains, wires, ropes, rods, and straps to provide an easy solution for non-electric illumination of these hazards. We are pleased to be able to contribute in even a small way to the protection of our nation's military personnel and working men and women."

DHi has pioneered the PL safety product market and is currently the largest installer of PL safety products in the United States. AfterGlow PL Safety Products are installed throughout the Pentagon and in many other locations around the country. Our Emergency Egress Lighting products are presently being installed in all US military services' Mine-Resistant, Ambush-Protected (MRAP) vehicles and other of our products are installed on a number of US Navy and Coast Guard ships, and are being used extensively in the Navy's newest aircraft carrier, the USS George H W Bush (CVN-77).

Defense Holdings (DHi), a service-disabled, veteran-owned, small business, is a technology leader specialising in the defence and homeland security markets.
